This loop hike utilizing part of the Tuscarora Trail explores wooded hill country along the West Virginia boarder with Virginia. The outing takes you past an old ranger shelter known as the Sugar Knob Cabin. Given the length of this adventure you should be on the lookout for campsites and sources of water as the day wears on. The thick forest canopy provides great ambiance on this adventure though it does obstruct potential views. Bring plenty of food and water for this overnighter, bring appropriate clothing and check and heed weather reports.
